I'm an ABTC-accredited Animal Training Instructor, having completed my Canine Training Instructor's course in 2019 with PACT. Being ABTC-accredited means that I’m officially registered and assessed against national standards for training and behaviour expertise, and animal welfare and follow a professional code of conduct that's centred on animal welfare.
I earned a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Edinburgh in 2024 in International Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law - completin the taught components of a Masters degree. Modules included Cat and Dog Welfare, Clinical Animal Behaviour, and Anthrozoology, among others.
My professional experience has included a range of roles, including a Dog Daycare Assistant, Assistant Training and Behaviour Advisor at Dogs Trust, and more recently, Training & Behaviour Specialist at Guide Dogs UK, where I continue to work on a part-time basis.
I've supported dogs and their people in many different contexts, from puppies to seniors, from everyday training needs to more complex behavioural challenges.
I'm a passionate learner, deepening my theoretical and applied knowledge and skills wherever I can. Currently, I'm working through a Level 5 Professional Coaching apprenticeship, and earning Cooperative Care Certification (CCC) alongside my dog, Poppy.
